Legislative Agenda
Representing citizens of Georgia in the General Assembly
is a full time service commitment, but not the
livelihood that keeps food on a table or a roof over
your head. In appreciation of our legislators tireless
service the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce Legislative
Affairs Committee hosted a “Thank You” luncheon for our
state legislators Wednesday, July 11, 2007. The
luncheon, held at Chehaw Park’s Education Center and
sponsored by WellCare, gave the Chamber the opportunity
to personally thank each legislator for his or her
commitment to our region. Representative Richard Royal,
who represents Mitchell and Colquitt counties, said he
was honored to be an invited guest and stressed the
importance of regional collaboration. State Senator
Michael Meyer von Bremen, along with state
Representatives Winfred Dukes, Ed Rynders, and Freddie
Powell-Sims expressed their views on the 2007
legislative session. To conclude the luncheon each
legislator was given a gift bag filled with items from
local businesses.
